It was established in 2000 by Joseph Nakhlé and produced by "Alchimies, Créations et Cultures" and serves to develop a dialogue between Arab and Western cultures. Diversified in its nature, it covers many forms of arts including dance, music, theater, multidisciplinary arts, visual arts and medias. Each year a major theme is chosen. Annual themes have included: 2000: Journées 2000 2001: Tentations 2002: Vous avez dit arabe? 2003: Dévoilée 2004: Razzias 2005: Harem 2006: Prophètes rebelles 2007: Espace Zéro 2008: Liaisons andalouses 2009: Mémoires croisées Creators and artists from FMA draw in a vast musical heritage, literary and spiritual, shared by hundreds of millions of people of all backgrounds and religions, in the four corners of the world. Through its four components, Arts, Culture Show, Movies and The Medina, the current FMA presents works that speak as much wealth as the experiences of men, original creations in dance, music, theater, arts multidisciplinary , visual and media arts. crossroads of artistic trends and directions for reflection and experimentation, is open to all artists from all cultural backgrounds, other broadcasters and producers, here and around the world to create a hotbed of cultural fusion and exchange and give festival-goers a wide range of choices of quality activities.
