{{AAType |Image=Hs 01.JPG |Home page=http://www.kristinfung.com/ |Location=Vancouver |Arts=Music |Type=Person }} Kristin Fung is a singer, pianist, and vibrant performer based in Vancouver, Canada. A highly expressive musician with brassy vocals, electric spunk, and a joyful soul, Kristin melds the art forms of jazz, R&B, pop, funk, gospel, and musical theatre with amazing versatility and playful energy. it's not unusual to see Kristin singing and playing jazz piano at a local hotspot one night, fronting her own R&B/pop/funk band the next, then prancing across the stage in a musical theatre production the following week. A classically-trained pianist since the age of five, Kristin holds a Bachelor of Music (Voice) from the University of British Columbia. She has also studied with Canadian jazz musicians Alan Matheson, Bob Murphy, and Jennifer Scott. Kristin's incredible stage presence traces back to performing on the local musical theatre stage since she was eight years old. Credits include Dorothy in The Wiz, The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Wife in The King and I for which Kristin won the E. V. Young Award for Most Outstanding Performance (Theatre Under the Stars). Current projects include performing on vocals and keyboards in her self-titled R&B/pop/funk band (Kristin Fung), leading her own jazz quartet (Kristin Fung Quartet), singing with the Good Noise Vancouver Gospel Choir, and recording her debut album. Kristin is also a dedicated recreational dancer trained in hip hop, tap, jazz, and salsa.
