He is best known for his 2009 [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/documentary_film documentary film] ''[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taqwacore_(film) Taqwacore]'' (full title ''Taqwacore: The Birth of Punk Islam'') produced by [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EyeSteelFilm EyeSteelFilm] about a number of [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taqwacore Taqwacore] bands and performers touring the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States United States] and [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pakistan Pakistan]. Majeed filmed the documentary during the three years 2007 to 2009 and released it on 16 October 2009.

Before ''Taqwacore'', he worked at CityTV as an editor on the shows ''[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QT:_QueerTelevision QT: QueerTelevision]'' and ''[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SexTV SexTV]'' and as a producer at [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_Television Book Television].

Omar Majeed's 2009 documentary ''Taqwacore'' is a look at the Muslim punk movement that sprung [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Muhammad_Knight Michael Muhammad Knight]'s book [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Taqwacores The Taqwacores] and features members of [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Kominas The Kominas], [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diacritical Diacritical], [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secret_Trial_Five Secret Trial Five], and [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Thawra Al-Thawra].
