Jen Sookfong Lee is the author of The End of East, a novel told through the eyes of its protagonist, Sammy Chan, a 20-something Chinese-Canadian woman. The book examines several generations within Sammy's family, one of several who settled in British Columbia during the early part of the 20th century. Lee is a radio personality and also the writing columnist for CBC Radio One's On the Coast with Stephen Quinn. She writes a column called Westcoast Words. In the CBC's 2009 Canada Reads competition, she defended Brian Francis's novel Fruit.

She and her husband reside in East Vancouver, British Columbia.
