Farah Fancy is an arts manager, performer and artist who for over 15 years, has been using the arts as a mechanism to teach about equality, rights, personal histories, self actualization and community bridging. She is rooted in working with cross cultural populations to promote the arts to a diversity of communities and to outreach to new audiences to overcome emotional and cultural barriers. | |||
With an interest in creating conversations using the arts to cultivate a deeper understanding of those within and without our communities, Farah co-founded Le Groupe Herencias. Their mandate is to use the arts for the promotion, exchange, and acceptance of identity, culture and heritage through creation, art education, research, training, and creative arts therapies. Her personal mission is to bring attention how the ordinary can become extra-ordinary. Through her company she manages choreographer, Julio Hong; music group, Rumbakwa; theatre research and performance ensemble,Rencontres/Encounters ; and the Afro Cuban Association of Montreal. Farah also is a public speaker for organizations who uses the arts as a means to strategize for economic development, goal setting, re-visioning, or for those who want an experience simply for the love of the arts. | |||
