| Janet (Jian) Liu born in north of China, finished art & design education in China and New Media Design/Fine Art education in Canada. In her art work, she captured many beautiful moment of life and abstracted them with mixed media on layered canvas. The influence on her works is from what she is feeling and experiencing, is what she uses to sort out her introspective thoughts. Her recent project is an abstract mixed media painting series inspired by her journey through and beyond breast cancer. These works explore the shifting emotional landscapes of day to day life with the disease – fear, darkness, joy, hope, faith, and ultimately the desire to live and love.

Her work has been published and exhibited nationally and internationally, such as 2002/2003 “Chinese Experimental Ink and Wash Exhibition”; 2004 “37th Toronto International Outdoor Art Exhibition”; “2012 3rd China•Cuiheng Cross-strait Chinese Artist Fine Arts Exhibition”.

| Janet (Jian) Liu setup the Art Saving Life Foundation since 2008, to assist in the recovery of breast cancer survivors by providing art therapy programs and seminars on achieving self-balance and funding qualified organizations to conduct research.
