As the host of Canada's leading Bollywood TV show - OMNI Television's Bollywood Blvd, Veronica Chail has been winning over audiences with her charismatic and infectious personality since she started. Being a self-confessed news, pop culture, fashion and reality TV junkie, Veronica has interviewed the biggest names in Bollywood and has produced numerous interviews with the movers and shakers of the world including politicians, newsmakers, sports heroes, activists, musicians, and Hollywood A-listers. Simply put - Veronica lives and breathes media! She is a creative soul and a humanitarian at heart.
Being in the spotlight isn't something Veronica sought when traveling the globe with her parents as a child, but it was her calling. Her journey to her dream career began halfway around the world in Sweden where she was born and raised. With no grasp of the English language, Veronica and her family later moved to Stratford, Ontario where she worked at the Stratford Festival of Canada and developed her love of theatre. Her extensive travel and international experiences led her to pursue a university degree in English and Political Science and a Masters degree in Journalism at the University of Western Ontario.
Veronica enjoys the challenges of wearing multiple journalistic hats. She began her journalism career as news reporter, news writer and entertainment reporter and host at OMNI Television. She moved on to work as a TV producer at CBC for "The Hour" with George Stroumboulopoulos. The first interview she was assigned to produce on the The Hour' was Hollywood royalty - Michael Douglas! Now, Veronica is back in front of the camera as a vivacious TV host and she also works as a producer and writer.
Veronica Chail will be forever synonymous with the 2011 International Indian Film Academy Awards. She was everywhere and had all angles covered! From hosting daily Bollywood Blvd shows, to the magical green carpet action, to co-hosting events with Shah Rukh Khan and Vivek Oberoi (talk about a career highlight), her interviews and to getting exclusive access to the stars- she was your go to person.
Veronica is passionate about the media's role in society and is dedicated to giving back to the community by working with a variety of charities and organizations. She is a Canadian Museum for Human Rights Ambassador and is dedicated to anti-human trafficking and human rights initiatives. Veronica also works with the Mood Disorders Association of Ontario, the Chest of Hope Art Project for breast cancer research and she also makes frequent trips back to the University of Western Ontario to speak to undergraduate and graduate students about career choices and leadership.
