Milton Lim is a Vancouver-based director/designer and multi-disciplinary performer. He holds a BFA (Hons.) from Simon Fraser University; a dual-major degree in theatre performance and psychology. His work utilizes digital media and various modes of live performance, often employing game mechanics, typography architecture, and high-frequency content readability.

He has created works for and performed in various international festivals including the PuSh International Performance Arts Festival (Vancouver), the Gateway Pacific Theatre Festival (Richmond), CanAsian Dance Festival (Toronto), Uno Fest (Victoria), rEvolver Theatre Festival (Vancouver), SummerWorks Festival (Toronto), Dancing on the Edge (Vancouver), Risk/Reward Festival (Portland), and the Seattle International Dance Festival. Milton's video media works have also been presented at the Vancouver Art Gallery, San Fransisco State University, and VIVO Media Arts Centre.

Milton was awarded the Ray Michal Prize for Outstanding Body of Work by an Emerging Director at the 2016 Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards.

In Vancouver, Milton has had the pleasure of working with MACHiNENOiSY Dance Theatre, Playwright's Theatre Centre, Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre, Centre A Gallery, the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery, and the Vancouver Art Gallery among others. Recent acting credits include Boca del Lupo’s Big Bad, Gateway Theatre's King of the Yees, and Theatre Conspiracy’s award-winning immersive show: Foreign Radical.

During his undergrad, Milton was a company member of the laboratory performance collective, Attic Salt, where he trained with visiting international artists, exploring artistic evolution in both performance and pedagogy.

Milton most often creates his original works as a Co-Artistic Director of his interdisciplinary company, Hong Kong Exile; he is also a Co-Director of Gold Saucer Studio and an Artistic Associate with Theatre Conspiracy.

Milton is the Artist-in-Residence with the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival over the next two years along with Hong Kong Exile. Supported by the British Columbia Arts Council, he is also in the midst of doing a year-long mentorship with award-winning playwright, David Yee, Artistic Director of Fu-GEN Theatre (Toronto, ON).
