His father, Ehtashamuddin Haqqee, wrote short stories, a study of [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hafez Hafez], ''Tarjuman-ul-Ghaib'', a translation of ''Diwan-i-Hafiz'' in verse and compiled a dictionary.
